GETTING AROUND TOWN
Newcastle is conveniently located along the 401, but also at the Southern interchange of the Highway 115 & 35. Go Transit operates in Newcastle with bus service and a carpool pickup location just west of town on Highway 2. Traffic in Newcastle should never get too bad because it lies east of Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Courtice, and Bowmanville. Since Newcastle is located in the most eastern portion of Durham Region, all of the westbound Toronto traffic won’t come through this area. However, if you’re a commuter to one of those places, you will have to deal with a significant volume of vehicles in the mornings and evenings as you move West along highway 401.
