As winter approaches and the chill sets in, we are reminded of how important it is to stay warm, especially for those who may not have the resources to do so. Many people in our community, especially children and families facing financial hardship, struggle to stay warm during the colder months. That’s why The Baird Team is excited to launch our annual Coat Drive for 2024. We need your help to make it a success!

Why a Coat Drive?

Cold weather can be a serious challenge for those without proper clothing. For many, a winter coat is not just a matter of comfort – it’s a matter of health and safety. Hypothermia, frostbite, and other cold-related illnesses are real threats, particularly for individuals who can’t afford to purchase warm clothing.

Through The Baird Team Coat Drive, we aim to gather gently used coats, jackets, and outerwear to distribute to those in need. This simple act can make a huge difference in someone’s life. A warm coat can help a child focus in school, allow an adult to travel to work without fear of the cold, and simply give people the dignity of warmth during the harsh winter months.

This marks our 8th instalment of the coat drive. Since 2017, we have collected over 1000 coats for the more vulnerable in our community. Once again, we are collecting winter coats and items of clothing to help those in need in our local community keep warm this winter. We will be collecting coats and warm clothing until Sunday December 8th. All coats will be professionally cleaned courtesy of Carriage Trade Cleaning Centre prior to distribution throughout Oshawa and Clarington.

How You Can Help

1. Donate Gently Used Coats: We’re accepting new or gently used coats in all sizes – from children’s to adults. Warm jackets, coats, scarves, hats, and gloves are all welcome!
2. Spread the Word: Share this post with friends, family, and coworkers. The more people who know about the drive, the more coats we can collect,.

We’ve partnered with several local businesses and organizations to make it easy for you to drop off your donations:
